You are what you Eat!!
Yes... The old saying is true.... If you eat healthy, you will be healthy...But most people today are filling the middle aisles of the grocery store with purchases of premade, predesigned and preservative loaded foods that are convenient, but not healthy for you....
If you work the perimeter of the store, you will quickly learn where the healthiest foods are.... Produce, Dairy, Meat sections are all on the outside sections of the store.......

What would you say are the best options as you are browsing the perimeter of the store? What kinds of fruits and vegetables are the best?

Re: You are what you Eat!!
I would say that all fruits and veggies have their benefits. One isn't the best over all others. It is important to get a variety (vary your colors especially because that is the simplest way to make sure you are getting a variety of nutrients) and it is important to get the types of fruits and veggies that you enjoy eating. If you don't like what you are eating then more than likely you won't stick to it for very long and you are setting yourself up for failure.

Hmm I've always heard your darker greens are much better for you than the lighter ones, like say, ice burg lettuce (light) compard to spinach (dark) or romaine lettuce(not sure of the spelling).
I've also heard that boiling your veggies is the worst way to eat them, that it boils all the nutrition out of them.

Re: You are what you Eat!!
One thing my mother and I have noticed since eating better is that there has been a serious lack of bloating. It's amazing to see how your body changes with the food you eat! I know that is an odd comment, but I wonder if anyone else has noticed changes like that. Since we have been eating healthier, though, we've noticed that a lot of "healthy" things you can get from the store are not so healthy anymore. There are so many preservatives and chemicals, it's killing us.
