New to workout routine

New to workout routine
I am just starting my workout routine. I have been in the gym for the past week. I have no idea what muscle groups to target etc. I have just been watching and doing what everyone else does. Anyone have ideas as to a good routine to build muscle mass ?

When you are lifting, Work opposing muscles (biceps, then triceps, etc.). Even working upper body, then lower body works. I personally work my legs on one day, chest 2 days later, then arms 2 days later. It works really well. I work on abs everyday since I am really trying to focus on getting rid of those.

Thanks for the info. I actually started working out with a colleague from work. His routine is a 6 day one: legs, chest, triceps, back, biceps, chest/back..Each day is also an ab workout. i am like you and need to really focus on abs.
